WHERE ARE YOU FROM AND WHERE ARE YOU NOW?

I was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia but my heritage is Dutch. We have been living in Bangalow in Northern New South Wales for the last three and a half years, but recently sold our home. My husband, Sammy, fourteen month old son, Atlas and I are travelling around Australia for a few months until we start building our dream home, Fox House (vos_huis), on some very special land in the Byron hinterland.

WHERE IN THE WORLD IS YOUR FAVOURITE SPOT TO SWIM?

Wategos is pure magic and some days I never want to leave the waves. Positano always has my heart.

YOUR FAVOURITE FELLA?

Casanova Top & Hubert Bottom.

IF YOU COULD TRAVEL ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD RIGHT NOW WHERE WOULD YOU GO?

I’d love to take Atlas to Japan, I think it would be a wonderland for his senses. I would love to explore Mexico City, for the incredible culture, food and architecture, but if I could fly anywhere tomorrow, it would be Paris or Florence.

WE'VE ALL BEEN SPENDING MORE TIME AT HOME THAN EVER. HAVE YOU PERFECTED ANY RECIPES OF LATE, AND IF SO COULD YOU SHARE IT WITH US?

I’ve loved making omelettes recently. I’ll get organic, pasture raised eggs from the Mullumbimby farmers markets and add some finely chopped local kalamata olives, parsley and basil picked from our little herb garden, and finely grate Parmigiano-Reggiano on top while in the pan. I’ll flip it in half and on the plate add more herbs, salt, pepper and tabasco.

WHERE ARE YOUR FAVOURITE PLACES TO GO WHEN SEEKING INSPIRATION?

Galleries feel like such a sanctuary at the moment. A small escape. I loved seeing the abstract expressionist works of Pollock, Motherwell and Rothko up close at The National Gallery of Australia whilst in Canberra. I always get lost in the beauty of Monet. I found so much inspiration in the brutalist architecture of the building itself. I am innately curious and drawn to new places and experiences. I can never stay in one place for too long and feel most inspired seeing things firsthand and being close to nature.

WHAT ARE YOU CURRENTLY READING/ WATCHING/ LISTENING TO?

I’ve just finished reading American Dirt and The Push, and have started Where the Crawdads Sing - it’s so beautifully written. I’m watching Bluey on repeat with my son. I’m listening to The Artipoppe Podcast - the episode with Zach Bush on motherhood, parenting, holistic health and bridging science, spirit and nature is incredible. We have so much to learn and unlearn.

YOUR FAVOURITE MALE NAME FOR FUTURE FELLA STYLE NAME INSPIRATIONS... BE THEY ACTORS, WRITERS, HISTORIC FIGURES OR JUST SOMEONE YOU MET ON THE BEACH ONE TIME.
